About

Hi, I’m Ryan.  I am an Instructor at Virginia Commonwealth University and teach UNIV 112, “Focused Inquiry II,” UNIV 200, “Inquiry and the Craft of Argument,” and UNIV 213, “The Truth About Lying.”  I’m particularly interested in rhetorical theory, community engagement, and composition.  This blog is comprised of notes and musings about course content and pedagogy, but there are also some other things from time to time.

Here’s a map for this site:

Descriptions of courses I currently teach and have taught in the past
Posts pertaining to VCU’s cMOOC Living the Dreams: Thoughtvectors in Concept Space
Thoughts on my experience teaching in the Incubator Classroom at VCU ALT Lab
My C.V.

Radio Silence is a metaphor for engagement.  It’s also a wonderful song.
